About Me

My training as an IT Ninja began in the mid-90s.  At the time, I was living in a sleepy little town named Lincoln and working for a company that built pipe organs.  We had a couple of Macs, and eventually a PC (running Windows 3.11) that needed someone to keep them up and running.  Well, that sounded like a fun challenge and since I was already doing design work on them, with VersaCad and AutoCAD, I volunteered.  Once I started, I was hooked!  Since that time, I’ve worked doing Desktop Support on Macs and PCs, System Administration on Windows, Mac, and Linux servers, and web development consisting of basic sites utilizing everything from static HTML, up to dynamic sites, using PHP and MySQL.

I’ve been doing server administration, as well as website and app development, for two decades now.  I try to post things that I think might be interesting and useful for others.  Although I’m an IT professional and a gadget geek, I’m actually more well-rounded than it appears.  Even though most of what I post is IT-related, I like to read non-tech literature and putter around my home shop.  I used to be an auto mechanic (long, long ago) and still enjoy working with my hands.
