Resetting Winsock LSP on Win Vista and Win 7

1. Type in cmd, then CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER, to open the command prompt with elevated privileges

2. At the command prompt, type: netsh winsock reset.  This resets Windows’ Winsock to the default settings.

3. Restart to complete the reset.
